What was your vision for Ft. TEENANGELS – PIECES OF A DREAM?
The creation of the Ft. TEENANGELS – PIECES OF A DREAM video was rooted in the idea of blending various elements—dreams, youth, inner desires, and emotions—through music. We wanted to evoke a sense of freedom, innocence, and nostalgia, creating a fairy-tale-like atmosphere interwoven with the real world.
How did you approach the cinematography to capture the essence of the music?
We aimed to craft a visual language that harmonized with the emotional tone and rhythm of the composition. To enhance the atmosphere of the music, we carefully selected locations that resonated with its mood. Every visual detail—from framing to the use of locations—was designed to support the core emotional thread of the music, allowing the viewer to not only hear but feel the song through the world we created on screen.
What techniques did you use to create the visual style of the music video?
We used chroma key to add elements to the narrative that couldn’t be captured in real- world conditions. Additionally, we incorporated dry ice to create a magical atmosphere for one of the storylines set in a foggy forest, where a lost character is searching for away out.
How does the visual narrative of the video complement the song?
The storyline of the video was carefully developed to amplify and deepen the corethemes of the song. Every scene reflects the key emotions of the track—whether it’s joy, longing, struggle, or hope—so that the audience not only listens to the song but also experiences it on a more profound level. Transitions between shots were also synchronized with musical shifts—both in rhythm and mood—allowing the visuals and music to work in perfect harmony.
What does it mean to you to win Best Music Video, Best Cinematography, and the
Audience Choice Award?
Winning Best Video and Best Cinematography validates the effort and attention to detail we poured into the project, while the Audience Choice Award is a particularly meaningful acknowledgment that we were able to touch people’s hearts. For me, these awards are not just recognitions but also motivation to continue creating art that inspires and evokes emotions.
What were some of the creative challenges you faced in this project?
It was essential that the visuals not only reflected the song’s lyrics but also enhanced them, creating harmony between the music and the imagery. We sought ways to make the scenes as expressive as possible with limited resources, which pushed us to experiment with lighting, locations, and camera angles.
How did the audience’s reaction shape your experience of the film’s success?
When we completed the project, I was proud of what we had accomplished both technically and creatively. However, the audience’s reaction became the most significant aspect for me. Not all feedback was entirely positive, and that helped me recognize areas for improvement in the future. But it was the audience’s engagement and discussion of the film that made the success of the project more tangible and meaningful to me.
How do you collaborate with musicians to bring their vision to life on screen?
The process starts with a conversation with the artist about what their track means to them and the emotions and stories they want to convey to the audience. We strive to understand their vision not just through the lyrics, but also through the sound—the rhythm, melody, and mood of the music inspire the visual concepts. From there, we begin to work together on crafting the video’s storyline.
How do you see the relationship between music and film evolving?
The bond between music and film has always been inseparable. Music videos are increasingly resembling short films, with thought-out narratives and a strong visual presence. Music and cinema are evolving together, constantly influencing one another. Music can inspire directors to create specific visual oncepts, while film, in turn, can give music new life and deeper meaning.
What’s next for you in music video direction?
We plan to continue collaborating with various artists, finding new ways to express their musical ideas through cinematic language. Working across different genres and styles of music consistently inspires our team. I believe there are many exciting projects ahead and our goal is to keep creating music videos that resonate with audiences, touch their hearts deeply, and evoke a wide range of emotions.
